Consider a polytopic family of polynomials \[ {\mathcal P}= \Biggl\{p(s, q)= \sum^n_{j= 0} a_j(q) s^j;\;q\in Q\Biggr\}, \] where \(q= (q_1, q_2,\dots, q_N)\) is a vector of uncertain parameters and \(Q\) is a convex polytope. One can find a finite number of one-parameter families of polynomials, corresponding to the edges of \(Q\). The union \({\mathcal E}_{\mathcal P}\) of these families forms the testing set of \(\mathcal P\). The main result is the following: given a polynomial \(\varphi(z)\), the polynomial family \(\varphi({\mathcal P})\) is stable if and only if \(\varphi({\mathcal E}_{\mathcal P})\), which includes all one parameter families generated by the edges of \(Q\), is stable. Finally, an illustrative example is given.
