The author considers the variational inequality to find \(u\in K\) such that \((v-u, Au) \geq(v-u,b)\) for all \(v\in K\), where \(b\in W^{{1\over 2},2} (S)\) is given, \(K\) denotes the positive cone of the Hilbert space \(W^{-{1 \over 2}, 2} (S)\) and \(A:W^{-{1\over 2},2} (S)\to W^{{1 \over 2},2} (S)\) is an elliptic operator of the negative order \(-1\) on a closed manifold \(S \subset \mathbb{R}^n\). Under suppositions specified in the reviewed article, it is easy to show the existence and uniqueness of the solution \(u\) to this inequality. The author studies questions of regularity of this solution. Namely, via consideration of approximative inequalities and respective approximative solutions, he proves that for \(b\in W^{{1\over 2},2}(S)\cup W^{1,p}_{\text{loc}} (\Gamma)\) \((\Gamma\) is a part of \(S\) which lies in some hyperplane -- the existence of such a part is supposed, and \(2\leq p<\infty)\) the solution is integrable with power \(p\) locally in \(\Gamma\), and if \(b\in W^{\gamma,r} (U)\) \((U\subset\Gamma\) is a closed subset of \(\Gamma)\) for some \(\gamma \in(1,2)\) and for \(r\) great enough \((r>{n+1 \over \gamma-1})\) then \(u\) is locally bounded in \(\Gamma\).
