A smooth map \(\phi: M \rightarrow N\) between two Riemannian manifolds \((M,g)\) and \((N,h)\) is called weakly conformal if \(\phi^* h=\lambda g\) for a smooth and non-negative function \(\lambda.\) If the dimensions of \(M\) and \(N\) coincide, it is shown that \(\phi\) satisfies the unique continuation property, i.e., the map \(\phi\) is constant if the conformal factor \(\lambda\) vanishes at a point \(p\) to infinite order.
