The author considers the uniqueness of a ranked poset \(P\) with respect to its order complex \(\Delta (P)\). In particular, he shows that the uniqueness (up to duality) holds for any connected manifold lattice (i.e., a poset \(P\) such that \(P^* = P\cup \widehat 0\cup\widehat 1\) is a lattice and \(\Delta (P)\) is a triangulation of a manifold). Moreover, if two manifold posets have the same order complex, they are sphere posets.
