Given a dynamical system (DS) \(\dot u = Au + F(u)\), \(u = u(t) \in \mathbb{R}^n\), \(u(0) = 0\), where the right-hand side is assumed to be analytic and \(Au\) is the linear part. The problem of converging normalizing transformations is investigated. The system is called to be in normal form, if the Poisson-Lie-bracket \(\{Au, f\}\) is zero, a normalizing transformation is a nonlinear formal transformation \(u\to u+\cdots\) which transforms the system in normal form. The main result is related to a theorem of L. M. Markhasov (1974) and to investigations of \textit{S. Walcher} and \textit{A. D. Bruno} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 183, No. 3, 571-576 (1994; (Zbl 0804.34040)] for a special case. Theorem 1 states that if the system possesses some analytic symmetries corresponding to (possible formal) symmetries of the normal form, then there exists a converging normalizing transformation. There are further results on constants of motion and some examples.
