Clusters of adsorbed molecules on a solid surface are related to the intersection graphs of equal circles on a plane. The corresponding ``caterpillar graphs'' have points corresponding to the circles, and two points are connected whenever the corresponding circles touch. The caterpillar structure appears for a configuration of circles whose ``spine'' is a straight line, and various properties of the graph are described.
