This is a continuation of a series of articles [for part V, see ibid. 71, No. 7, 137-139 (1995; Zbl 0865.14013)], concerned with triangles \(t\) with sides \(a,b,c\), and elliptic curves associated to them by various interesting constructions. -- In this part VI, exclusively real triangles \((a,b,c\in \mathbb{R})\) are considered, and it is shown that there is a 1-1 correspondence between similarity classes of \(t\)'s and isomorphism classes of triples \(E_t\) of elliptic curves associated to them. Here, geometry in the real plane plays a rĂ´le by introducing sin, cos, \(\pi\) (trigonometry). In the following part VII [ibid. 72, No. 2, 31-33 (1996; see the following review)] the author persued the same theme for those objects rational over any subfield \(k\) of \(\mathbb{R}\). This time, he introduces a third object (a quartic surface over \(\mathbb{Q})\) in addition to triangles and elliptic curves to clarify the matter. As examples, a ``rational triangle'' or ``Heron triangle'' -- triangles with rational sides and rational area -- are investigated, and the above mentioned triples of elliptic curves associated to them are explicitly given.
