The author solves some classes of nonsmooth optimization problems, where the state problem is given in the form of a state variational inequality with coefficients as control variables. Problems of optimal control have been solved mostly for state equations and classical boundary conditions. Existence of a nonsmooth optimal control is proven on the abstract level. They prove the continuous dependence of the solutions of variational inequalities with respect to the \(G\)-convergence of the operators involved. Using the results of \(G\)-convergence theory it is shown that there exists an optimal solution of an extended control problem.
