Let \(M\) be a compact complex manifold with a holomorphic \(G\)-action, where \(G\) is a complex Lie group. Then there is an induced action of \(G\) on the Dolbeault cohomology groups of \(M\). This paper contains some observations about this action and its relationship to the Fröhlicher spectral sequence which has first term \(E^{p,q}_1 :=H^q(M,\Omega^p)\) and abuts at the de Rham cohomology of \(M\). It is known that if \(M\) is Kähler, then \(E_1\cong E_2 \cong \cdots \cong E_\infty\). The three dimensional Iwasawa manifold gives an example with \(E_1 E_2\) and an example with \(E_1 E_2 E_3 \cong \cdots \cong E_\infty\) was given by \textit{L. A. Cordero, M. Fernandez}, and \textit{A. Gray} in C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Ser. I 305, 753-756 (1987; Zbl 0627.32025)]. The author begins by noting that if the first differential \(d_1\) of the spectral sequence is zero, then the induced \(G\)-action on Dolbeault cohomology is trivial. By contrast, he shows that if \(G\) is a semisimple complex Lie group and \(R\) is any finite dimensional irreducible holomorphic representation of \(G\), then there is a way to construct a compact complex manifold \(M\) with a \(G\)-action such that \(R\) is realized as a subrepresentation of the induced \(G\)-action on \(H^q(M,{\mathcal O}_M)\).
