A special method of quadratic spline interpolation with coinciding interpolation points and sewing nodes is proposed. In the capacity of one deficient initial condition for the uniqueness of the spline the author uses the \(L_2\) norm of the spline to take the prescribed value (greater or equal to the minimum one). The case of positive interpolation is considered. Also the author investigates the conditions to be fulfilled for the monotonicity of the interpolated data to lead to the monotonicity of the spline. Three illustrative numerical examples are presented.
