The author uses a finite difference method to compute the first few eigenvalues of the one-dimensional Schrödinger operator with potential \(V(x)\) given by \(\mu x^{2I}\mp gx^{2N}/(1+g\alpha x^{2M})\) for a range of values of the positive integers \(I\), \(N\), \(M\) and the positive numbers \(g\), \(\mu\) and \(\alpha\).
