A closed set \(F\) in a domain \(D\subset{\mathcal C}\) is called AC-removable if every continuous function \(f:D\to{\mathcal C}\), holomorphic in \(D-F\), is holomorphic in \(D\). In the paper under review, continuing his study of his previous notes [Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 227, 566-568 (1976; Zbl 0363.30033); Sib. Mat. Zh. 34, No. 4, 142-148 (1993; Zbl 0806.30018)], the author establishes several criteria of AC-removability of some sets. Its main result is that (Theorem 6): ``If \(\phi:K\to\mathbb{R}^n\) has property \(N\), where \(K\subset\mathbb{R}^k\) is compact, then, the image \(\Gamma=\phi(K)\) is an at most countable union of sets of finite measure.'' We recall that a function \(\phi:K\to\mathbb{R}^n\) has property \(N\) (with respect to \(k\)-dimensional Lebesgue measure \(|\cdot|_k\) and \(n\)-dimensional measure \(\mu\)) if \(|A|_k=0\Rightarrow\mu\phi(A)=0 \forall A\subset K\). He shows that there exists a quasiconformal curve (i.e. the quasiconformal image of a straight segment) of Hausdorff dimension 1, which is not AC-removable.
