We construct two families of groupoids \(X(\tau)\) and \(X(\sigma,k_1,k_2)\) of respective orders \(q(q-1)/2\) and \(q(q+1)/2\) with \(q=2^r\). The groupoids admit \(\text{SL}(2,q)\) as a transitive group of automorphisms. Let \(X\) be an arbitrary groupoid of order \(q(q\pm 1)/2\); moreover, \(\text{Aut}(X)\) has a subgroup \(G\cong\text{SL}(2,q)\) transitive on the set \(X\). We prove that \(X\) is isomorphic to the groupoid \(X(\tau)\) or the groupoid \(X(\sigma,k_1,k_2)\). The most interesting example of the groupoid \(X(\tau)\) for \(q=8\) is considered at the end of the article. This groupoid has order 28 and has 2-transitive automorphism group.
