A function \(f:\mathbb{R}\to\) Banach space \(X\) is called scalar ap iff \(y\circ f\) is Bohr-almost-periodic for each \(y\in\) dual \(X'\) (Amerio). Ap and scalar ap coincide if \(X\) has the Schur property, i.e., each weakly convergent sequence is norm convergent. Here, \(f(t)= T(t)x\), \(t \in\mathbb{R}\), are considered with \(x\in X\), \(T(\cdot)\) a strongly continuous one-parameter group of continuous linear operators \(:X\to X\). For such \(T\) it is shown: If for each separable subspace \(Y\) of \(X\) the weak* sequential closure in \(X''\) is separable, then if all \(T(\cdot)x\) are scalar ap, \(x\in X\), they are already (norm) ap. Special case (Lyubich): \(X\) weakly sequentially complete. -- For the proof an extension of a result of Gelfand is used: If \(X\) is separable, \(\Gamma\) a closed linear subspace of \(X'\) such that \(r(\Gamma):= \inf\{\sup \{|y(x)|: y\in\Gamma\), \(|y|\leq 1\}: x\in X\), \(|x|=1\}>0\), if furthermore \(G\) is a compact metric space and \(f:G\to X\) is \(\Gamma\)-weakly continuous, then there is \(t_0\in G\) at which \(f\) is norm continuous. This in turn follows from the existence of an equivalent norm \(|||\;|||\) on \(X\) such that \(r(\Gamma)=1\) with respect to \(|||\;|||\), if \(r(\Gamma)>0\) with respect to \(|\;|\). For arbitrary \(X\) it is mentioned without proof: If \(T\) is scalar ap and Eberlein weakly ap, then \(T\) is (norm) ap.
