A module \(M\) is called supplemented if for every pair of submodules \(N\) and \(N'\) of \(M\) with \(N+N'=M\), there exists a submodule \(L\subseteq N'\) minimal with respect to \(N+L=M\). The principal result of this paper is (1) If \(M\) is a discrete module, then \(\text{End}_RM/J(\text{End}_RM)\) is a left continuous ring, where \(J(\text{End}_RM)\) is the Jacobson radical of \(\text{End}_RM\). This result is a new observation of the authors. Moreover, the authors consider supplemented quasi-projective modules, and get the following main results: (2) If \(M\) is a quasi-projective supplemented \(R\)-module with \(\text{Rad }M\ll M\), then \(\text{End}_RM/J(\text{End}_RM)\) is a left self-injective ring, where \(\text{Rad }M\ll M\) means that \(\text{Rad }M\) is a small submodule of \(M\). (3) Let \(R\) be a commutative noetherian ring, and let \(M\) be a quasi-projective supplemented \(R\)-module. Then \(\text{End}_RM/J(\text{End}_RM)\) is a left self-injective ring.
