Study of the blow-up set by transformation (Q1922957)

The author extends blow up results of the reviewer and \textit{L. A. Peletier} [Math. Z. 202, No. 2, 207-217 (1989; Zbl 0671.35046)] from equations of type \(u_t+\Delta u+\lambda f(u)-a|\nabla u|^2\) to more general \(f(x,u,\nabla u)\). The function \(u\) is transformed into another function \(v\). Blow up for \(u\) is equivalent to vanishing of \(v\), and thus one recovers some known cases of blow-up in a unified fashion.
