The authors stress as in many areas of current research, that the identifiability and distinguishability problem is not still considered as a mandatory step necessary to be performed a priori, before the identification process. This is particularly true in the electrochemistry domain where the above notions although of great importance, particularly in the case of physically relevant parameters, are hardly tested. In this paper, several electrochemistry experiments are described in an ideal context without noise, and it is emphasized that some of them have some parameters which are not identifiable. Some suggestions are provided in order to choose the system-experiment configuration suitable to make the system under study identifiable and/or distinguishable.
