The initial value problem for a delay differential equation \(y'=f(t,y(t),y(t-\tau))\) is studied using linear multistep methods (LMMs) where \(f\) is smooth enough and fulfills a Lipschitz condition. For approximation of the delayed variable Nordsieck's interpolation technique, providing an interpolation procedure consistent with the underlying multistep formula, is used. Applications to immunology are given.
