The Jordan superalgebras \(B^s_{p,2q}\), \(p=2,3, \dots, \infty\), \(q= 1,2, \dots, \infty\), are superanalogues of the Jordan algebras \(B_n\) of a nondegenerate symmetric bilinear form, \(n=2,3, \dots, \infty\). The purpose of the paper under review is to give explicit bases for the polynomial superidentities of \(B^s_{p,2q}\) over a field of characteristic 0. Earlier, an explicit basis for the ordinary polynomial identities of \(B_n\) was found by the author [Sib. Adv. Math. 1, No. 4, 142-185 (1991); translation from Tr. Inst. Mat. 16, 5-37 (1989; Zbl 0845.17022)]. The main result of the present paper is that the basis for the polynomial superidentities for \(B^s_{p,2q}\) consists of the superization of the basis for the polynomial identities of \(B_\infty\), four new identities of degree 3 and 4 and, if some of \(p\) and \(q\) is finite, by Capelli identities. The author uses in the proof various techniques involving ordinary, \(\mathbb{Z}_2\)-graded and trace polynomial identities and obtains as a byproduct some other interesting results. In particular, he shows that the \(\mathbb{Z}_2\)-graded trace polynomial identities of the Grassmann envelope algebra \(G(B^s_{\infty, \infty})\) are the same as of the \(\mathbb{Z}_2\)-graded Jordan algebra \(B_{\infty, \infty}\) and gives explicitly the basis of trace identities. The reviewer believes that the methods developed in this paper may be successfully used for other problems in the theory of superalgebras with polynomial identities. The paper is equipped with a good list of references as well.
