Designs and codes: An update (Q1924164)

The authors provide a survey of recent results that update topics found in their influential book [Designs and their codes, Camb. Tracts Math. 103, Cambridge University Press (1992; Zbl 0762.05001)]. After a brief review of definitions, they deal with new results concerning codes of projective and affine planes, oval designs, Hadamard designs, unitals and Steiner triple systems. Results on designs that are characterized by their codes (rigidity theorems), codes of dual structures, and \(p\)-ranks of strongly regular graphs are also mentioned. This update is timely and comprehensive, providing not only new theorems, but also the revised status of several conjectures, and the results of computer searches by several researchers.
