The authors make an interesting study of internal gravity waves produced by a point source in a stratified fluid. Using the Green's function of the wave equation, they find the integral representation of the elevation function of the internal waves. With the typical non-constant value of the Brünt-Väisälä frequency, numerical solutions of the problem are obtained. This study seems to have applications to the dynamics of stratified oceans.
