A bounded domain \(G\) filled with Stokes fluid is considered. Further, in \(G\) there is a rigid body occupying some domain \(S\subset G\). Using the Helmholtz variational principle a solution of a problem concerning the vector field of the mentioned rigid body is found. The paper studies some properties of this solution which depend on the domain \(S\). Three theorems related with these properties are formulated and proved.
