This paper is a generalization to the stable and simple contexts of a notion originally devised for groups of finite Morley rank by \textit{O. Frécon} [J. Inst. Math. Jussieu 7, No. 4, 751--792 (2008; Zbl 1178.03044)]. The article under review adapts Frécon's construction to the stable and simple cases where, as one expects, it becomes much more involved model-theoretically. In addition to Frécon's ``inevitable radical'' \(\mathrm{In}(G)\) consisting of the non-geometric elements, the author introduces another radical \(\Psi(G)\) consisting of non-``pseudo-geometric'' elements. (Technically speaking, the notion of a pseudo-geometric family is obtained from that of a geometric family by relaxing the requirement that the generic element belongs to a unique conjugate to: belongs to boundedly many conjugates.) Both \(\mathrm{In}(G)\) and \(\Psi(G)\) are hyperdefinable in the stable case. In the simple case one must replace them by approximations enjoying the desired properties. As for the results obtained by Frécon using his construction in the finite Morley rank setting, they relied on specific techniques which remain out of grasp in this more general context.
