The Brunn-Minkowski theorem for convex bodies was refined by Bonnesen using intersections of the bodies with parallel hyperplanes. The authors remark that a similar result holds where instead of intersections, projections are used. For the latter result the authors give a complete characterization of the equality case. For \(d=2\) they give a characterization of the equality case in Bonnesen's theorem. The results are interesting contributions to the literature, their proofs are involved.
