The article deals with solutions to a nonlinear operator equation \[ A(x) - f = 0\tag{1} \] with a Fréchet or Gâteaux differentiable nonlinear operator \(A(x)\) and to the Cauchy problem \[ \frac{dx(t)}{dt} = A(x(t)) - f, \quad x(0) = x_0.\tag{2} \] The author, in terms of the logarithmic norm of the operators \(A'(x)\), formulates conditions under which the solution \(x(t)\) of (2) converges to the solution \(x_*\) of (1). Recall that the logarithmic norm \(\Lambda(K)\) of an operator \(K\) is defined by \[ \Lambda(K) = \lim_{h \downarrow 0} \;\frac {\|I + tK\| - 1}h. \] The author considers the cases when (a) \(\Lambda(A'(x)) \leq - \alpha\) (\(\alpha\) is a sufficiently small); (b) \(\int\limits_0^t \Lambda(A'(g(\tau))) \, d\tau \leq 0\) and \(\lim\limits_{t \to \infty} t^{-1} \int\limits_0^t \Lambda(A'(g(\tau))) \, d\tau \leq - \alpha\) (\(\alpha\) is a sufficiently small, \(g(t)\) is any differentiable curve). Some numerical experiments are presented at the end of the article.
