This paper deals with some differential delayed nonlinear systems which cover a large class of Lotka-Volterra models including competitive, cooperative, predator-prey and mixed type systems with variable intrinsic growth rates. The paper extends some previous published work on competitive systems, establishing general results on existence and boundedness of global solutions as well as necessary conditions for the permanence of solutions.
