    Some results on e.s.a. and positive \(C_0\)-semigroup generation, known for semi-bounded Schrödinger operators \(\Delta + V\) in \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^N)\) with singular potentials \(V\), are extended to perturbed Kolmogorov operators \(Au := \Delta u - \nabla\rho \cdot \nabla u + Vu =: Lu +Vu\), \(u \in C^{\infty}_{c}(\mathbb{R}^N \setminus \{0\})\). It follows that, for certain symmetric Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operators \(L\) and \(V(x) = c|x|^{-2}\), where \(c \leq \frac{1}{4}(N-2)^2 - 1\) with \(N \geq 5\), the closure \(\bar A\) generates a positivity preserving \(C_0\)-semigroup in \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^N,\mu)\), \(\mu\) being the unique invariant measure for \(L\).
