A maximum modulus estimate is studied for solution to the nonstationary Stokes equations in \(C^2\) bounded domain. By the analysis of the singular part and the regular part of the Poisson kernel, the authors show that the normal component of the velocity is bounded by its boundary data, and some estimate of the tangential component of the velocity is obtained. As a corollary, the maximum modulus of the velocity is obtained in the whole domain under the assumption that the normal component of the boundary data is Dini-continuous, and the tangential component of the boundary data is bounded.
