This paper studies a general class of Axiom A flows satisfying the regular distortion condition along unstable manifolds. This condition has been used by the author to prove some strong spectral estimates of Ruelle's Perron-Frobenius operator with respect to arbitrary potentials over the system [Nonlinearity 24, No. 4, 1089--1120 (2011; Zbl 1230.37040)]. The author introduces a pinching condition on the (lower) bundle \(E^u_1\) of a further splitting of the unstable bundle \(E^u=E^u_1\prec E^u_2\). Note that \(E^u\) and \(E^u_2\) are always integrable. Under the integrability assumption of \(E^u_1\) and some nondegenerate condition of the basic set \(\Lambda\) (that is, \(\Lambda\cap W^u_\epsilon(x)\backslash W^{u,2}_\epsilon(x)\neq\emptyset\) for all \(x\in\Lambda\)), the author proves that the flow does satisfy the regular distortion condition.
