The author proves an operator Kantorovich type inequality that says that, if \(A\) is an \(n\)-by-\(n\) matrix and \(m,M\) are positive real numbers such that \(m\leq A\leq M\), then \(\phi (A^{-1})^{2}\leq \frac{\left( M+m\right) ^{4}}{ 16M^{2}m^{2}}\phi (A)^{-2}\) for every unital positive linear map \(\phi \). This inequality presents a generalization of a result of \textit{A. W. Marshall} and \textit{I. Olkin} [Aequationes Math. 40, No. 1, 89--93 (1990; Zbl 0706.15019)].
