Recall that an infinite-dimensional Banach space \(X\) is indecomposable if, whenever \(X=A \oplus B\), then \(A\) or \(B\) is finite-dimensional. Moreover, \(X\) is hereditarily indecompsable (HI) if all its infinite dimensional subspaces are indecomposable. It is well known that each HI space has density at most \(2^{\omega}\). In the paper under review, a \(C(K)\) space of density \(2^{2^{\omega}}\) is introduced which is indecomposable. The construction is not absolute, that is, it is proved that it is consistent that such a space exists.
