In their paper [\textit{E. Paolini} and \textit{E. Stepanov}, J. Funct. Anal. 263, No. 11, 3358--3390 (2012; Zbl 1254.49027)], the authors have shown that every acyclic normal one-dimensional current in a complete metric space can naturally be decomposed into curves, the decomposition preserving the mass and the boundary mass. In the present paper, the authors obtain a similar decomposition result for all real one-dimensional metric currents. The result is obtained in Theorem 3.1 and in the Corollary 3.3. Next, the authors prove that a one-dimensional Ambrosio-Kirchheim normal current in a complete separable metric space can be naturally represented as integral of simpler currents associated to Lipschitz curves. A current with zero boundary (cycle) can be represented as an integral of elementary solenoid.
