The author discusses the theory of sub-Riemannian geometry, subelliptic analysis and the general theory of subelliptic harmonic maps. The main theorem is an existence result for the subelliptic heat flow and the subconvergence to a subelliptic harmonic map. This theorem generalizes the Eells-Sampson Existence Theorem.
