The paper under review deals with the formal classification of holomorphic endomorphisms in \(\mathbb{C}^n\), \(n\geq2\). The authors propose an alternative approach to further reduction of Poincaré-Dulac normal forms, which is equivalent to the one described in [\textit{D. Wang, M. Zheng} and \textit{J. Peng}, Int. J. Bifurcation Chaos Appl. Sci. Eng. 18, No. 3, 803--825 (2008; Zbl 1147.37342)] and is based on the relations between homogeneous polynomials and symmetric multilinear maps (instead of higher order derivatives). As an application, they present a complete list of formal normal forms for two-dimensional superattracting germs of order 2. They also discuss some examples of tangent to the identity maps of order 2 in \(\mathbb{C}^2\).
