This paper considers a PDE model for the interaction of one predator and one prey species. The domain is a square with no-flux boundary conditions. The spatial aspect of the model consists of independent diffusion of both species. The local interactions are described by a pair of coupled first-order ODEs. They are of Holling-Tanner form, but with the addition of an extra term to model the Allee effect, which may be strong or weak depending on the value of a particular parameter. The model without spatial interactions is analysed first and the authors find all fixed points and values of parameters at which they undergo bifurcations. Spatial interactions are then included and conditions for a Turing bifurcation are found. Numerical simulations show a variety of patterns arising from Turing bifurcations.
