The paper aims a problem of data interpolation by cubic splines from a computer aided geometric design framework, using periodic uniform cubic splines. Usually the B-spline control points of a cubic uniform spline interpolant are obtained as a solution of a system of linear equations. In this paper, an explicit formula for the control points of the interpolation curve is given and the least possible bound for the deviation of the periodic cubic spline interpolant to the data polygon is derived from that formula. Some numerical examples and discussions for further work are also presented.
