The book contains an excellent introduction to the theory of complex integration. This book is an amalgamation of lecture notes for various applied mathematics and mathematical physics courses. The content of the book is structured as follows: `Basics' is concerned with fundamental concepts of complex analysis; In the chapter `Hypergeometric series with applications', the gamma function, the Mellin integral transform, series expansions, hypergeometric series, and differential equations are considered. The chapter `Integral equations' is devoted to product kernels, differential kernels, singular integral equations, and Abel's integral equations. In the next chapter entitled `Orthogonal polynomials', the author studies orthogonality relations, the Gram-Schmidt orthogonalisation procedure, Rodrigues' formula, generating functions, recurrence relations, integral representation of orthogonal polynomials, relations to homogeneous integral equations, orthogonal polynomials and hypergeometric functions. Many illustrations, examples and problems enrich the book.
