Tropical matrices and group representations (Q1950617)

The tropical semiring has as its underlying set the real numbers extended by adding the element \(-\infty\), and the two operations \(a\oplus b=\max[a,b]\) and \(a\otimes b=a+b\). The study of the tropical semiring is important for many applications. Continuing on from the paper by \textit{M. Johnson} and \textit{M. Kabites} [Linear Algebra Appl. 435, No. 7, 1612--1625 (2011; Zbl 1228.15003)], the author gives a complete description of the subgroups of the semigroup of tropical \(n\times n\) matrices up to isomorphisms.
