The bisector of two points in a normed space (i.e., in a finite dimensional real Banach space, also called Minkowski space) is defined as the set of points each of which has equal distances to the given points. Bisectors can, in general, have a very complicated (topological) structure. In the present paper, the concept of bounded representation of the bisector is introduced, and, based on this, the topological structure of bisectors in normed spaces of dimension \(n\geq 2\) is clarified. The main result says that, if the bisector is a manifold of dimension \(n-1\) with boundary, then its bounded representation is a topological ball of dimension \(n-1\) and, conversely, if the bounded representation of a bisector is a topological ball of dimension \(n-1\), then the bisector is of the same type. The introduced concept of bounded representation of bisectors yields also interesting relations between the notions of bisector, shadow boundary and radial projection. In the introduction, the known results which combine these three notions are collected and discussed.
