In this paper, it is shown that if \(f\) is a symplectic automorphism of finite order on a \(K3\) surface \(X\), then \(f^*:\mathrm{CH}^2(X)\to \mathrm{CH}^2(X)\) is the identity. \textit{C. Voisin} [Doc. Math., J. DMV 17, 851--860 (2012; Zbl 1276.14012)] proved this for the case where \(f\) is an involution. The author argues that the main idea in the proof of Voisin does not extend to the case of automorphisms of higher order. The proof in this paper relies on the structure of the NĂ©ron-Severi group of a \(K3\) surface admitting a symplectic automorphism (as obtained by Nikulin, Morrison, Van Geemen, Sarti, Garbagnati) and several previous results from the author.
