Summary: We investigate the nature of the development of two-dimensional laminar flow of an incompressible fluid at the reversed stagnation-point. \textit{I. Proudman} and \textit{K. Johnson} [J. Fluid Mech. 12, 161--168 (1962; Zbl 0113.19501)] first studied the flow and obtained an asymptotic solution by neglecting the viscous terms. \textit{A. J. Robins} and \textit{J. A. Howarth} [J. Fluid Mech. 56, 161--171 (1972; Zbl 0261.76019)] stated that this is not true in neglecting the viscous terms within the total flow field. Viscous terms in this analysis are now included, and a similarity solution of two-dimensional reversed stagnation-point flow is investigated by solving the full Navier-Stokes equations.
