The book gives a consistent presentation of theoretical results for the entanglement of electrons produced by photoionization of atoms and molecules. This is a potentially important topic for possible future experiments probing the long-distance correlations between quantum objects (well known as Bell inequalities). Thus far, such experiments have been carried out only for the spin of photons, as the experiments with the electron spin turn out to be much more difficult. Nevertheless, such experiments may become feasible in the future, which makes this book a relevant piece of the theoretical analysis. The book starts with the consistent presentation of basic principles of the quantum-information theory. Because the entangled electrons are expected to be presented by photoionization of atoms or molecules, two main parts of the book give a detailed account of these quantum processes for atoms and molecules (including one- and two-step photoionization of molecules). The book also contains additional material, including numerical codes which play an essential role in the analysis of the general topic considered in this book.
