The author solves the inverse scattering problem for the equation \[ -\psi''(x)+ q(x)\psi(x) = \lambda^{2}\rho(x)\psi(x) \] on \([0, \infty)\) with boundary conditions containing the spectral parameter \(\lambda\): \[ -(\alpha_{1}\psi(0)-\alpha_{2}\psi'(0)) = \lambda^{2}(\beta_{1}\psi(0)-\beta_{2}\psi'(0)),\quad \alpha_{1}\beta_{2} - \alpha_{2}\beta_{1}>0. \] The potential \(q\) is a real valued short range potential and the function \(\rho\) is a positive piece-wise constant function with one point of discontinuity. The potential \(q\) is recovered from the scattering data using a fundamental equation, similar to the classical Marchenko's fundamental equation.
