The Gauss error function of a real variable is defined by \(\text{erf}(x)= {2\over\sqrt{\pi}} \int^x_0 e^{-t^2}\,dt\). Results on the error function may be found e.g., in the well-known monographs by Abramowitz-Stegun (1965), Gradshteyn-Ryzhik (1994), or Luke (1975). The author of this interesting paper states certain new properties of this function. For example, he obtains sharp upper and lower bounds for the ratio \(\text{erf}(x)/\tanh(2x/\sqrt{\pi})\); studies sub- and superadditive properties \(t\to\text{erf}(t)^\alpha\), convexity of \(t\to t^\alpha/\text{erf}(t)\), inequalities of Hölder and Minkowski type for error functions, or completely monotonic functions in terms of erf, etc.
