A lattice vertex operator algebra \(\mathcal{A}\) is introduced for a free infinite discrete abelian group \(L\) of rank \(d\). \(\mathcal{A}\) is a noncommutative unital \(*\)-algebra with the usual Hermitian conjugation and operator norm defined on an appropriate dense domain of bounded operators in \(\mathcal{A}\). A subalgebra \(\mathcal{A}^{(\omega)}\), called the tachyon algebra, is constructed from the chiral tachyon operators of \(\mathcal{A}\) by considering a ``\(N\)-truncated'' algebra obtained by considering only a finite number of oscillators and then taking the limit \(N\to\infty\). The algebra \(\mathcal{A}^{(\omega)}\) defines a \(2d\)-dimensional \(\mathbb{Z}_2\)-twisted module \(\widetilde{\mathcal{T}}_\omega^d\) over the noncommutative torus, where \({\mathcal T}_\omega^d\) carries a double representation \(T^{(+)d}_\omega\times T^{(-)d}_\omega\) of the noncommutative torus \(T_\omega^d\). For the algebra \(\mathcal{A}\), an even real spectral triple \((\mathcal{A},{\mathcal H},D,J,\Gamma)\) is constructed and also for \(\mathcal{A}^{(\omega)}\), the spectral triples \((\mathcal{A}^{(\omega)}, {\mathcal H}_0,\partial,J,\Gamma)\) and \((\mathcal{A}^{(\omega)},{\mathcal H}_0,\overline{\partial},J,\Gamma)\) are constructed. The Morita equivalence classes for the algebra \(\mathcal{A}^{(\omega)}\) are determined by means of the string duality arguments. The automorphism classes of the module \(\widetilde{\mathcal T}_\omega^d\) are determined. The general gauge theory invariant under this automorphisms is constructed. Bosonic and fermionic actions associated with the gauge theories are computed and are investigated in detail from the view point of duality-invariance.
