By considering the noise engineering control, the authors realize high insertion loss with lightweight structures. They construct an optimal analytical model for acoustic actuators in piezoelastic materials. Numerical results are presented in plots for bending moments and displacements versus piezo-thickness and sound pressure, for different piezoelements. The analytic model for actuator is coupled with an analytical model for double panel partition, and a control scheme is incorporated in it. The simulation results show that a substantial increase of transmission loss can be achieved with this configuration in the low frequence region (30-500 Hz).
