Propagation of surface elastic wave in a cylindrical bore placed in a micropolar elastic medium with stretch is analyzed in two cases. In the first case the cylindrical bore is empty, while in the second case the bore is filled with a homogeneous inviscid liquid. For both the problems, the equations for period are derived in closed form, and the problem of Banerji and Sengupta [\textit{D. K. Banerji} and \textit{P. P. Sengupta}, Bull. Acad. Pol. Sci., Sér. Sci. Tech. 25, 257-262 (1977; Zbl 0368.73004); ibid. 263-271 (1977; Zbl 0368.73005)] has been obtained as a special case. The authors perform numerical calculations for a particular model, and present the results in graphical form. It is found that the effect of micropolarity on the dispersion curve is significant, while the effect of microstretch on the dispersion curve is negligible.
