Let \(M_g\) be the mapping class group, the group of isotopy classes of orientation preserving diffeomorphisms of a closed oriented surface, \(\Sigma_g\), of genus \(g\geq 2\). If \(\pi: E\to B\) is an oriented fiber bundle with fiber \(\Sigma_g\), the \(n\)-th Morita-Mumford class \(e_n\) is defined in \(H^{2n} (B;\mathbb{Z})\). For the first result in this paper assume \(C\) is a compact Riemann surface of genus \(g\) and \(G\) a finite cyclic group of order \(m\) which acts on \(C\) in a faithful and holomorphic way. Let \(\pi: C_G\to B_G\) be the homotopy quotient of this action, a surface bundle with fiber \(C\). Let \(u_0\in H^2 (G;\mathbb{Z})\) be the Euler class associated with the complex 1-dimensional \(G\)-module \(R\) given by multiplication by \(\exp (2\pi i/m)\). The following periodicity relation is shown for \(n\geq 0\): \(e_{n+\varphi(m)} (C_G)= e_n(C_G) u_0^{\varphi(m)}\in H^{2(n+ \varphi(m))} (G;\mathbb{Z})\). This result is then used to compute the Morita-Mumford classes of finite cyclic subgroups of the automorphism group of the Klein curve, the curve defined by the equation \(X^3Y+ Y^3Z+ Z^3X= 0\) in the complex projective plane \(\mathbb{C} \mathbb{P}^2\).
