The paper presents a theoretical study of wave propagation in a waveguide (a weakly bent elastic anisotropic layer). Using a compact tensor formalism, the author derives analytic expressions for amplitude and Berry phase (specific to slowly varying waveguides). Some interesting relations (terms as hydroenergy equalities) are formulated. The terminology goes back to Russian physicist Umov, according to whom the energy flow can be considered as a fluid subjected to continuity equation.
