The author introduces and studies the topological property of space approximation generalizing the known space admissibility property in the sense of \textit{V. Klee} [Math. Ann. 141, 286-296 (1960; Zbl 0096.08001)]. It is demonstrated that some types of approximative neighborhood extension spaces have this approximation property. On that base a general fixed point principle for some abstract class of multimaps is presented.
